Post reports Sampson said 122 times in testimony "I don't remember" ....
(By Linda Davidson -- The Washington Post)

"It may have been a tactical effort to limit his risk of perjury, but Sampson displayed the recall of a man who recently fell off a ladder."

3. For the record: DU is one of the few places in the universe...
... that is convinced that the Washington Post is a rightwing media outlet.

6. Aren't there two Washington DC news papers? One right wing
and one left wing?

8. That's one way to look at it.
The Washington Times makes no bones about being rightwing toilet paper.

The Washington Post, however, is generally considered to be a fairly reliable source of news. Of course, the rightwing paranoid knuckledragger set is convinced that the Post is simply the DC office of Pravda. And, there is the select group at DU who thinks that the Post is a rightwing smear vehicle.

5. 122 times boy Bill Clinton must have really done something wrong

Why do I hear the Godfather theme? Kyle got a visit or a call.

And the families...
the families were taken care of.

Tom Hagen: When a plot against the Emperor failed... the plotters were always given a chance...
to let their families keep their fortunes. Right?
Frank Pentangeli: Yeah, but only the rich guys, Tom. The little guys got knocked off and all their estates went
to the Emperors. Unless they went home and killed themselves, then nothing happened. And the families...
the families were taken care of.
Tom Hagen: That was a good break. A nice deal.
Frank Pentangeli: Yeah... They went home... and sat in a hot bath... opened up their veins... and bled to death...
and sometimes they had a little party before they did it

7. During the Iran Contra hearing - "I don't remember" was said
John Poindexter is reported to have used the phrase "I can't recall" (or some variation thereof) 184 times during his five days of testimony.

During two days of testimony, Ed Meese used the phrase "I can't recall" (or some variation thereof) 340 times.

10. A Medical Perplexity? Their memories improved dramatically when questioned by Republicans...
When Lurita Doan, head of the General Services Agency, testified the day before --she was 'embarrassed' because she could not remember a powerpoint presentation at her offices put on by the Republican Party that listed Democrats targeted by Republicans for defeat in the next election.
However, when questioned by a Republican she could remember everything he asked. Remarkable!

When Sampson was questioned by Republicans, especially his former employer Orrin Hatch, his memory worked like a charm. But when Schumer and Leahy asked him questions, his memory bank shut down and he down and he could not remember was his only response. Remarkable!

Is there a medical name for this condition? How about Sworn Intentional Selective Memory Impairment?
