2. Just a thought
My friend and I went shopping and almost all the clothes were "Made in Vietnam". I remarked about how Vietnam made it just fine without us.

4. The killing stopped only after we left Viet Nam
and as you just pointed out indirectly, 60000 Americans, and over a million Indo-Chinese lives were wasted for nothing

3. "don't you want America to win????"
I hate it when they pull that crap...
without a single idea of what winning is
or how they're going to achieve it.
No their idea of "winning in iraq" is a stupid one
because it's no idea at all.

6. and NO ONE ever calls them on it
I don't here the MSM or Congress simply ask that question

I know they will envelop it in vauge language, when the the insurgents are gone, or democracy is there, but they should not be allowed to get away with that.

Perhaps an election should be held in Iraq whether the Iraqis want us to remain?

8. Winning
They can't define winning, because that would involve mentioning Exxon-Mobile, Chevron, BP, etc etc etc.

Winning involves a permanent placement of the USA on or very near one of the few REMAINING vast oil reserves in the world. In the long range, we must be permanently in the Middle East to take advantage of their oil reserves and our insatiable appetite for oil. In the next few generations the conflagrations will be between the US and the Chinese for the same reason...oil.

9. they say what winning is--it's just laughable

A stable democracy and an end to sectarian violence, with secure streets so the children can go to school without fear.

How is that going to happen now? or Ever?

We don't even have that here.

Bushie blew it in the first week by allowing the looting. That was a very clear signal to the Iraqi people: don't expect us to protect you, we're just here for the oil ministry.

They want the chaos so Halliburton and Gulf Oil can get rich. That is all.

11. It was Bush himself who said, Failure in Iraq would be a disaster
but everyone in America (except the most deluded) and the rest of the world already realizes that Iraq has been a failure for some time now and that Bush is the disaster.

He's defined success in the past in vague jingoistic terms like freedom and democracy but that version of success has no more basis in reality than our troops being showered with flowers during the first days of the war.

I think even Bush realizes Iraq has been a failure but he can't admit it without admitting he is the failure, which he is genetically and psychologically unequipped to do. He has no choice but to keep the charade going. The fact that the price is being paid in other people's blood is of no consequence to him.

12. this is the big game, you loser!
did'nt you ever see "Hoosiers" or "Rudy"?

This is AMERICA dammit! We WIN! We don't LOSE!

You snivelling liberals have no STOMACH for KILLING or WINNING! It doesn't matter what winning is! If our glorious leader, for example, secretly defines "winning" as letting his unka dick decide when he's made enough money or if he secretly defines "winning" as getting out of office with the US still entangled in Iraq so he doesn't have to own up to being the one who "lost" then THAT should be good enough for ALL OF US!

WE'RE NUMBER ONE! WE'RE NUMBER ONE! WE'RE NUMBER ONE! WE'RE NUMBER ONE! WE'RE NUMBER ONE! WE'RE NUMBER ONE! WE'RE NUMBER ONE!

Even if being number one means we have to swallow a big load of number two.
