The most disturbing thing about the Rove Rap was David Gregory

I found that I was most disturbed by seeing David Gregory right there, laughing it up with Karl Rove while he rapped. Now, I know Mr. Gregory has asked some tough questions during press briefings in the past, and I believe he is, if not a liberal, at least a fair journalist.

Still, seeing a member of the press so chummy with the top aid of a corrupt administration was quite unsettling.

They basically took him down - whatever shred of credibility he may had had left evaporated right there. And THAT made the whole scene so disturbing.

4. Now see, I don't see him laughing with Rove

I see him, and the majority of the others in attendenc, as laughing at him and they could publicly do so and not fear reprisal.

I've been to functions like that, when "big whigs" get up and pretend to be "cool" or "one of the guys", you just laugh and laugh and laugh, they are proudly making fools of themselves. They aren't being clever or showing talent, they are just being the ass you knew they were.

They probably chose Gregory because he sometimes is the toughest on them during the press briefings.

Gregory really bothered me as well.

Rove's true personality came out, too: he's somewhat introverted, shy, and quiet.

I wonder why more (most) of them didn't have "other plans" for the evening (like say, a dire urge to clean out their sock drawer?) and not go to the event at all.
