CNN had a local reporter on, and she said she lives in the complex that is almost engulfed by flames. My first thought was, "Get off the air and get home!"

The fire is east of the 101 freeway and heading toward the Hollywood sign. At this point LAFD is working on the valley side of the fire.

So far only 26 acres. Luckily the winds are calm right now.

He was talking about the pet food scare. But I put on 980 to hear what was up with the fire. Then I put in Stevie Nicks' new CD.

Traffic wasn't bad on the 101. I could see the Hollywood sign on the freeway and it looks like the fire is on the Burbank side of the hill. I've got Ch7 on now.

Took the 101 to Laurel Canyon (Forest Lawn was blocked off) and down to WeHo. Not bad.

Today Germain was talking about conspicuous consumption and defending his materialism.... one of these days I'm going to call the station to confirm whether or not it's actually "progressive".

Can't stand him. Been listening to KTLK all afternoon and found out about fire here on DU before reported on radio.

Fire is near Burbank, which just passed a law banning all outdoor smoking.
