Our Elected Millionaires.
I too have grown weary of the wealthy, maybe I'm just jealous cause I can't afford a second yacht. But I truly am weary of only being able to vote for millionaires. Only millionaires can run for the top offices, especially the top office.

I can imagine a new world with instant communication where a person could look up all he wants about a candidate on the web, and then make his or her voting decisions. A world where the candidates don't have to fly all over the nation shaking hands, a world where a person could literally run a campaign on half a million, or a quarter million, or 50,000 bucks even.

Imagine a candidate with NO MONEY, none, all he or she had is a good idea and a modem. A candidate who refused all monies, and only spent enough to reach out to his constituents. A person with a really hot idea or two is all we'd need, not a person with a minimum of 10 million bucks.

In the requirements to run for president it states various things, but no where does it say that the candidate must be a multi millionaire.

I don't want to buy the most expensive candidate, I want to vote for a good idea.

2. Slavery is much simpler.
Millions are working just to remain alive, no yachts, no movies, no cars, no frills, just getting dinner on the table for the kids every night. Minimum wage isn't nearly minimum enough for some billionaires.

4. Sure, rub it in.
You, with your fleet of shiny new yachts, you're no better than I am y'know, someday I'll have an armada and you'll be sorry looking on your pathetic 60 footer.

7. I'm trading up
no more yachting for me...

I'm thinking a vintage Boeing 747...fully customised with rare rainforest hardwoods, hot tubs, exotic animal hide covered seating and gold plated faucets...

Would you like some cake?

9. Cake? You can afford cake?
One of those fancy designer cakes too I'll bet, cakes that look like 747's.

17. One yacht is not enough ...
When I run for president, I'll NEED my fleet.

The nice yacht for me.
Last year's nice yacht for my closest hired friends, butler, publicist, hair-colorist, opinion-writer, etc.
A bunch of high-speed inflatables with machineguns for my security posse.
A tugboat pushing a barge full of reporters.
I forgot - on my nice yacht I have a navigator who can keep the yacht upwind from the reporters' barge.

I'd just run a basic campaign, no frills. :)

His name was Paul Wellstone.

Good post though. Few people have wailed against class privilege here more than me. Welcome to the fight.
