Now I understand the secrecy

There has never been a more secretive, sequestered administration in history than the Bush administration. I used to wonder why. I knew they were hiding their corruption and wrong doing but after seeing what has happened with GONEzealous, I think I have a little more insight. Liars cannot keep up with their stories. Liars are better off saying nothing rather than risking contradicting themselves. If liars don't say anything, you can't accuse them of lying--or anything else.

We need more than a required state of the union address from the president. We need quarterly addresses without White House interference of the press. I heard Randi say today that the White House controls the microphones at many press conferences and when questions are particularly difficult or complex they turn down the volume so the "unfriendly" journalists cannot be heard.
