My former friend/co-worker strikes again with his RW column
This bozo is sports editor of the local weekly and, according to his sig in the paper, "an avid consumer of talk radio." I guess that qualifies him to write a column on the op-ed page. :eyes:

Here's the latest one:

Look at the news that's making headlines in America and it quickly becomes crystal clear that decayed, leftwing thought is slowly pushing this country to the brink of needing a root canal just to survive the undermining liberal bombardment from within.

Everyday we hear of some new law that passed or some new lawsuit that rips at the moral fiber and foundation of America that makes most of us want to explode inside. Wait, remember, we must not say anything. We are not allowed to vent. We must accept everything and go about our business. Remember also, the new motto: Diversity is our strength, and the left must make its whacked-out policies in the liberal courtrooms of America because they can't do so in the voting booth...

Believe it or not, he gets letters of support. Here's one: http://www.pinnaclenews.com/views/contentview.asp?c=210514

For those who wish to comment, the address is letters@pinnaclenews.com. The editor is Mark Paxton, who was a pretty damned good journalist until he sold his soul to the current owners.

1. Man it must drive this guy crazy to live near San Francisco. Is that where I understand "Pinnacle"
to be located, from clicking around? Or Gilroy?

His way of thinking, or parroting RW anger and talking points, must be SOOO popular there!

7. Near Gilroy
Hollister. Supposedly it's a blue county (San Benito), but you sure couldn't tell by most of the people I know here.

His column started running six weeks ago, though this is only the third one; we had a blissful three weeks without him until today. Guess he was busy compiling O'Hannibaugh's talking points.

3. Wow, this guy makes a living writing?
Forget his ranting, which is like any other rw spew. His run-on sentences, use of cliches, and grammatical awkwardness make me think he's either got an inheritance or a day job.

9. This is his full-time job
Like I said, he's also the paper's sports editor, and he's not very good at that, either. He makes a lot of mechanical mistakes, uses too many cliches and thinks "home run" is one word.

4. DOD can't find a missing $2.3 Trillion
Edited on Sat Mar-31-07 12:47 AM by EVDebs
"According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions," Rumsfeld admitted.

$2.3 trillion — that's $8,000 for every man, woman and child in America. To understand how the Pentagon can lose track of trillions, consider the case of one military accountant who tried to find out what happened to a mere $300 million.

"We know it's gone. But we don't know what they spent it on," said Jim Minnery, Defense Finance and Accounting Service. ""

And Bush is blaming Democrats for a porked up Iraq War appropriation bill he threatens to veto ? Let him veto it...he can use some of that friggin' $2.3 TRILLION he's got stashed away somewhere...like in a HalliburtonKBR, CACI, or phoney-front MZM Partners (or a secret GOP account stashed offshore) ?????

What exactly WAS Carol Lam on to before her career was abruptly ruined for nothing ?

5. Damn, that's a lot of words that don't say a single damn thing...
and back it up with even less substance.

10. My reaction exactly.
I'm reading his tripe and thinking to myself, "WTF is he talking about?"

Lots of generalities, not a single specific point, and even less backup.

What a dope.

11. Yup
When I read the LTE that praised his previous column as "well-reasoned," I burst out laughing. I don't think I've ever read anything less well-reasoned; he writes nothing but RW talking points without any backup whatsoever. They're just rants, and not very good ones at that.

6. I can see why he's a "former" friend
How the hell can you have a rational discussion with ANYONE who believes that global warming is a farce? Sure, alligators may have once roamed parts of Greenland. Does he really want to go back to that? Does he know how much land was underwater back then?
