Dave Obey and Dems owe Tina Richards an apology!

I listened to Mike Malloy tonight. He had Tina Richards on for an interview. As you may know, Tina Richards is the mother of Marine sent to Iraq who has been sent Iraq twice and is suffering from PTSD and a brain injury. He is about to have a third tour of duty in Iraq. Tina's son Cloy is so injured but the VA won't have nothing to do with him and it looks like the Democrats in Congress won't have anything to do with him either. Wisconsin Congressman Dave Obey should bow his head in shame as well as Nancy Pelosi for not giving Tina Richards 5 minutes of their time to hear her out. Couldn't at least Dennis Kucinich, Jim McDermott. or Barbara Lee listen to this woman?

This is just the very thing that speaks volumes when so-called Democrats like Dave Obey call those people who give a damn as "Liberal Idiots". It also speaks volumes when very little has been done about getting our forces out of Iraq. These people were elected back in November to bring our troops home. They are a disappointment!

I am almost at the point where I really don't care anymore. The American political system is a joke! I am almost more content with just letting the whole country collapse. Just start over from scratch after the dust settles.

I know the incident between Congressman Obey and Tina Richards happened a few weeks ago but since I have been concentrating on my education plus my disillusion with the whole political scene, I still had to make a rant. Dave Obey should apologize to Tina Richards. The whole Democratic Party should apologize to her and America.

face it, disgusting as it is, it is because it is not politically expedient for the democrats. I share your anger but trying to reach out to Obey and the like is useless. Dennis would be her best bet at this point. If I were her I would put my son in a hospital and make a public display of refusing to let him do a third tour. I mean a big TV news kind of display.

2. Rather than a pointless rant, would it work to arrange

your thoughts into a nice, tightly ordered argument and then present them to us to consider? Perhaps then we might be able to do something about it.
What is it, exactly, that you want somebody to do and who is it that you want to do it?
Do you want to beat a drum to draw attention, or do you want help to accomplish something? I confess I am at a total loss as to direction.

I share your rage. This occupation should end today. Even the M$M wrongly reports what is in the house bill. It states "combat troops" home in 18 months. That is roughly half of the US troops in Iraq. I assume the other 70,000 will stay forever to guard the bases, the US palace and the OIL. Bring them all the fuck home NOW!

but just think how many are out there in the exact same situation. The rules have been relaxed so much in order to keep troop levels up that this story has become the norm.

6. There are many Tina Richards that want attention, deservedly so.

Democrats have had the majority for 12 weeks and they really can't effect control of the federal government which is still securely in the hands of George W. Bush. Do we want them to spend their time empathizing with the plights of 100's or 1000's of Tina Richards or do the work necessary to take down the Republican Syndicate in 2008? There are apologies due Mrs. Richards and I would respectfully suggest she direct them at the people whose policies are directly responsible for her son' condition. She should keep the heat on the Democrats, but focus her fire on the Republicans.

Did these people send her sonS over to Irq? Did they screw up the VA Hospitals? The Dems have been totally out of power for the last six years and they are just a little bit busy trying to straighten things out. Maybe she should get an apology from dumsfeld, bush and cheney????

The Dems have the power to end it and end it all NOW! The apology Congressman Obey should be making is for insulting the very people who put him in office to begin with. "Liberal Idiots???" If he thinks liberals are idiots than maybe we shouldn't be supporting the Democrats if this is the overall attitude.
