Name the celebrity, sports star etc that you are most surprised is a Republican or Democrat
For me:

Republican: Dennis Hopper

Democrat: Bud Selig

1. Agree with you on Dennis Hopper. It's hard to see him as a
Republican, but evidently he is.

I'm told that Nancy Grace is a Democrat. Or gives money to Democrats. Something like that. She comes across as a Republican on her program, which I earnestly try to avoid. But we'll take her money if she wants to give it.

2. Bruce Willis as a republican.
I tend to like his movies and acting. I've made it a habit to no longer see any Schwartzeneger movies, but I won't do the same with Bruce Willis. He seems to be far less annoying than most repub celebrities.

That would be a nice turn of events.

9. He may be saying now that he's not a Republican, but
back in 2002 he said this in a Reader's Digest interview:

"Mitchell: Are you a fan of President Bush?

Wills: I think he's doing a really good job. I'm glad he was smart enough to surround himself with really brilliant people. I'm glad Colin Powell is there. A lot of people don't like Dick Cheney, but I'd rather have a guy who's had experience."

If Bruce isn't a Republican now, I'm guessing that means he's bought a clue at some point during the last 5 years.

Hunter Thompson once said taking drugs alot seemed to cause such confusion that it became natural to look at the world in simplest terms- even Hunter sometime slipped into repuke mode! dennis hopper always seemed like the doper who thought kicking over filled garbage cans was funny (it wasn't) so going gopig just a furtherance for him, taking a walk in the world o ideas....
john Malkovitz is a rightwing loony, bush loving etc :(
james woods thinks bush is the blonde jesus fukkin christ :(
ted from michigan, the redmeat goofball, meester hippie dippie rock star :(

Rosie O'Donnel! I love that beautiful lady! :)

33. I find that hard to believe
Re: Nancy Grace honestly.

Its more likely one of those things where they hae some right wing shill say "I am a lifelong Dem,its just the Democrat party is so bad nowadays that I come off as right wing". Especially with these talking heads on CNN/Faux etc.

Faux used to have this very annoying person called Pat Caddell on sometimes, who was a "Democratic strategist"- I have never heard that guy say a bad thing about the Repukes or a good thing about the Dems. He spent the entire 2004 election cycle trashing Kerry and talking about how he will lose. Another "lifelong Dem" who "donates to the Democrat party".

14. I don't think he's a Republican
more of a Clinton hater and conspiracy theorist.

A week or so ago, I was channel-surfing and came across the actor who played Denise Huxtable's husband on THE COSBY SHOW speaking to the Young American Foundation which I believe was once Young Americans For Freedom - sort of the Junior John Birch Society. From what I gather, he's become a conservative columnist and activist.

17. Maybe this quote will convince you:
"Now, of course, I think the President is doing an extraordinary job. It’s a good thing I’m not President because I would have just launched. Okay, I’m sorry, I just would have. But our President and I just, I love George Bush right now and I always have. I’m the only guy in LA who voted for him . And I have to tell you the way he’s handling it is very deliberate, very careful and so on and doing the right thing."

"If they harbor terrorists, we should wipe them off the face of the Earth. Eventually, one of these terrorist diaper-heads is going to come around and do something more horrible."

He claims to have been on one of the flights the hijackers used for a dry run and reported his experience to the FBI. Once he had a connection to the terror war, he obviously decided to swallow the whole kit and kaboodle.

 I'm going to have to close down IE to get rid of it. Kelsey Grammar was quite a shock for me, too. He donated to our local hospital's cancer unit in memory of David Hyde Pierce's mom who died there. Considering that they are close friends and he's an obviously compassionate fellow, it's more of a shock.

These are all repubs: Bob Barker, David Blaine (d*mn, I really enjoyed him, not anymore),Drew Carey, Tom Clancy,(author), and look at Tony Danza, gave to both parties equally. Robert Duvall a repub??? Dean Koontz??? Dr. Phil, and oh my gawd, Jim Nabors!! Chuck Norris, and look at Ted Nugent, 67% to Dems, and 33% to repubs. I'd show more, but I have to go eat breakfast right now. Great list tho.

31. Ron Silver
How can a man who campaigned alongside Bill Bradley in 2000 become an unthinking shill for * just four years later. I do know the answer -9/11 -but it's still a big leap and to me shows a lack of intellectual judgment. I like the way that the "West Wing" parodied his transformation by changing him from a Democratic strategist to a Republican strategist

On the flip side, Alan Alda is a Democrat? He plays a Republican presidential candidate so convincingly! Having said that, it's true that the "West Wing" also chose James Brolin -husband of Barbara Streisand and someone who seems to be relatively liberal at least in his later years -to be Bartlett's conservative Republican opponent in 2002.

36. Alda has been a Dem forever
He was very outspoken in talking up the ERA back in the 1970s. He's one of the original Hollywood liberals.

I was surprised to learn back in the 80s that Gregory Peck was a very active Democrat. One of his sons ran for the House and I was even more surprised to learn that Johnny Carson made a large contribution of his campaign. Carson, apparently, was definitely a Dem, though quiet about it.

Given his painted views of an idyllic America, I would've figured him for a right-winger.

But he was the opposite: pro-union, pro-civil rights, etc.
