Tom Davis (A-VA) is a piece of work..
He seems to think he RUNS the show..Nothing but smarmy retorts and "points of order" and ...more sighs & eye-rolls than a human ought to be allowed.

I am not seeing many forceful questioners on our sides, but many "over-time" comments from the repubes. Waxman needs to conk them with the gavel :grr:

1. He and Issa were OBNOXIOUS!
Doan was too. The repukes spent all their time trying to make Brian Miller out to be the bad guy and painting Doan as the innocent victim. They're a bunch of lawless jerks!

3. I think Waxman gave the last witness enough time to clarify his position
I think that the Repubs can't go before the cameras and say they didn't have enough time to ask questions. Seems to me Waxman is handling the careful balance. It's as much a chess game as a hearing. Or maybe like making sure the whiny kid gets a slice of cake that's a wee bit bigger than the rest. :)

That last congressman needed a visit from the whambulance, though. Like it's all a minority issue. for that he sure deserved a bonk from the gavel! I think this one is big enough for the job?

6. Davis always reminded me of one of those movie Senators
who winds up in BIG TROUBLE with either, Steven Seagal, Bruce Willis, Al Pacino (although Hatch is just like that Sen. in Godfather II), or Wesley Snipes.

8. That's a great analogy
Davis is just photogenic enough. And he's got that mouth that can appear sneery and snotty. The character in the movie that you really want to "get it". I think my blood pressure won't jump as high the next time I watch him in a hearing.

:hi:

13. Actually,
I saw Rising Sun again recently and Davis looks like the actor who was the translator/facilitator...the guy they threw off the building at the end I think.

5. I'm D/Ling it now
Davis seems unable to shut up in his opening statement. And of course, that must be the fault of the Democratic majority too.

7. Does Tom Davis (A-VA) stand for Asshole from Virginia? That's exactly what he is. I hope his
constituency wakes up to the worm that he is.

16. The Dems need to create their own target list and to record C-Span clips
against these idiots as 2008 campaign tools. I'm a C-Span junkie and have a clue, but how about everyone else? How many of Davis' constituents have seen what a little man he really is?
