1. I sorta think the Iranians will cave out of fear
of an attack against its nuclear facilities by either of these countries: U.S., U.K., Israel

2. Bad feeling...
I have a bad feeling the 15 sailors will be found guilty in a trial and executed.

There are certain factions of the Iranian government that DO want a fight with the United States. It is totally illogical but some religious fanatics actually look forward to a war.

I remember during the India-Pakistan nuclear crisis in 2003 when they came *this close* to a nuclear war, certain fundamentalist clerics in Pakistan were actually praying for a nuclear war!

Add in America's OWN religious fanatics and war mongers and it is a very volatile mix.

Whatever the case, do not count on sane and rational decisions to be made. If they happen to be made just consider ourselves (and the world!) lucky!

5. Highly unlikely.
It wouldn't surprise me however, if the brits were held for a long period of time- like until a new pm takes over.

6. Wow. I can't even imagine what might happen if they
were to hypothetically execute these soldiers.

Then again, Iran hangs children for being gay, so I wouldn't put it past them.

3. We need more choices!
I believe about a year ago I posted that the US was sending ships to he Gulf (or atleast I was planning to post it *lol* ) My thought at the time was they were aiming for Iran.

However, with Bush lacking any support and the uproar it would cause if Bush and his henchmen went after Iran, I figure that the US will not be directly involved in any attack on Iran.

It amazes me how there was such a big uproar about Iran, then during election season there was not a word spoke about it and once the election season ended, Iran became a popular target again.

11. I hope you're joking.
Obsession with that hateful book of fairy tales is a big part of why we're in the mess we're in.

9. Given the report that this was done intentionally to foment a crisis I have diminished expectations.
If the Brits could have met the Iranian demands, they would have by now. I expect the US and UK will step up international pressure on Iran. France and the rest of the UK are going along with that, though at a slower pace than Blair and Bush want. I also expect covert pressure to be brought to bear, which may be the key.

Eventually the Brits will be released "in the name of Allah the merciful" or some other such crap. In years something might come out what the pushed them over that threshold.

Note: The stories that grabbing the Brits was planned all trace back to a single source, an opposition group withing Iran that both the US and UK have labeled as a terrorist organization. Believe it or not at your choosing. I believe it due to other indicators, not just the report.
