On a "Light Note"...would DU'ers back up their LIHOP/MIHOP files on MOZY.com?

Saw an ad on MSNBC for them...and was :rofl: thinking what it would be if many of us LIHOP/MIHOP and other Truthteller/Researchers/ DU'ers "backed up our hard drive in the event of failure" on "Mozy.com."

Helloooooooo......Govt. is calling!

Maybe it's a great site and I'm trashing them without having knowledge that it's a great site and all the Twitter and Face Book Folks are running over there to "back up" in case they lose all their "FaceBook Friends, Twitter Contacts and the rest.

But, being a privacy freak...I do wonder why folks seem to get all hyped up over this. Is it worthwhile, though. I might just have dinosaur thinking on these new products.

1. You Can Encrypt Files Yourself Before Storing Them

Using GPG or similar.

The service actually works quite nicely.

Once they're encrypted (using good encryption), then they are pretty worthless to anyone but you.

No one but you (if you have the key) and maybe the NSA can read it. Even the NSA would have to really want to see it to spend that effort of cracking it.
