Daniel Ortega was elected President of Nicaragua. Remember how horrible it was going to be for the USA if Nicaragua fell to the "Socialist" Ortega. We could not allow it....not in the Western Hemisphere...No way No how....We needed to do some killing..Send Negroponte down there and get the death squads on the prowl..It will be the ruination of America if any country in this Hemisphere were to become "Socialistic" Since Bush* and Cabal took over how many countries in Central and South America have moved away from America and it's political philosophy? It has to be the Hippies fault with their Peace Love Dove Crap...The only thing those people know and respect is an iron fist and if the Republicans are nothing else, they are an iron fist...How is that iron fist thingy working out anyway???? Oh woe is us..

1. I Doubt it Will Effect the US in Any Way
showing that it was never an issue to begin with. Bush's attention is elsewhere, and he doesn't seem able to focus on multiple things at once.

Ortega is a different leader of a different government now than he was in th 80s. He's no longer the leader of a successful revolution. He's had to work with his former opponents within their government structure. I expect him to challenge the elite within the constitutional framework a la Chavez. But the Sandinista element is not as strong, Nicaragua does not have the financial resources of Venezuela, and he will have to tread more lightly.
