OK, people. Time to head this off at the pass.

Associated Press
March 30, 2007

BLUFFTON, S.C. — Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on Thursday dropped some names of potential running mates in the 2008 race, adding that such speculation was premature.

Among those Romney mentioned for the second slot on the Republican ticket were three Southerners: South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich of Georgia, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

"There's some wonderful people right here in this state, as you know, Gov. Sanford being one of them," said Romney, formerly governor of Massachusetts, to a round of applause. He had been asked about vice presidential picks by a member of a crowd of about 400 people gathered for his campaign stop in this earlyvoting state.

.....

But he did say Bush was "quite a guy."

"I love him. If his name weren't Bush, he'd be running for president, I'm convinced," said Romney, who added he also was "pretty partial" to South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint.

7. Romney isn't well liked by the religious right and I don't think Jeb is enough...
...to change that.

15. I was thinking prety much the same thing.
Romney's chances are slim, so bloomers needn't be in a twist over Jeb.

9. Well... it was a good run while it lasted, Mitt
Ya gave it your best and ya played it square, but when they look back at where the campaign went sour, the term "April Fools" will be likely applied.

Even Freep types denounce the notion of another Buxh in office and cite the comparison to a monarchy. Would have been better off going with Cheney and his 17% approval rating.

Maybe Mitt can try again in 2012 with Rudy Gulliani and his 5th wife as running mates.

10. I'd be tempted to say this could never, ever, happen--but then I remembered

that there was a time that I thought, there's no way we'll ever elect Chimpy. Or re-elect Chimpy. So what do I know?

13. Waiting breathlessly
for Romney to name his Cabinet and then he can name his Oval Office secretary and his White House chef. On the other hand, I hope he has a Plan B, like retirement to Martha's Vinyard.

14. Does he have a death wish???

I mean, suppose he wins the Repuke nomination and they steal the election... I doubt seriously that he would survive 6 months into his term... this IS the BFEE we are talking about!!!

16. I'm beginning to connect a few dots...
I just knew there HAD to be some game like this in the works. The whole U.S. Attorney thing doesn't make any sense otherwise. I mean...why make such an effort to put Bush loyalists--not just Republicans but specifically Bush cronies and operatives--in place in key states? Dubya can't run for president again, so what are they really up to???

The Bush mafia is scheming to keep its power intact regardless of who sits in the Oval Office. In fact, they are trying to consolidate their power by completely corrupting and OWNING the Judicial branch of government and the electoral process itself (they only partially corrupted them previously). The scheme probably won't work, but that's what the goal is.
