--- I've heard the figure of 700 applied to "contractor" deaths,... though I suppose a few merc's could be included in that total. Incidentally, I also heard a few days ago that the total number of "contractors" in Iraq was 100,000. Can this be true? I thought it was only about 20,000.

4. Does this figure include those that die from injuries other than on the
battlefield? I don't think so. What's the real number of soldiers who have died because of the war? I remember one DUer here who said he knew 2 guys that had died but their names were not on the list that the Pentagon had released of the 3050 dead. Anyone know where we could look for the real figures? I'm willing to do some research but don't know where to start.
