Was travel to Mexico down already due to violence?

Long before the influenza virus, I remember overhearing some people talking about how they were not going to Mexico on vacation.

Does anyone know if travel to Mexico was down? (e.g., college spring break trips, trips during kids' spring school breaks)

usual srping break spot, (los cabos) was full, from los cabos to mexico city empty

2. NPR said it was actually starting to bounce back for future bookings until

the virus.

3. I have a cousin whose company was having their annual trip

(a reward for the employees) at some resort in Mexico, and they cancelled it due to violence, well before this flu stuff.
