Interview with director of Miss California Pageant.
The Pageant 'underwrote' breast implants for Miss California.
Lots of interesting and weird back and forth.

He mentions other 'tricks of the trade' to enhance breast size used by pageant contestants.
Including using chicken cutlets.

which is not only ethically unsound (Prejean managed to win the state pageant without them), it creates the image of collusion between the two pageants. Even if it was the state pageant's idea, Prejean either should have paid for the implants herself or gotten the money for them elsewhere. Now not only is the state pageant pwning Prejean, she has to worry about them demanding a refund!

(Yes, they do exist - they're called scholorship pageants.)

Beauty queens at that level don't appear at events for free. I've been trying to find out what the appearance fee is, but I can only assume that whatever it is, it's split 50/50 between Miss Your State and the state pageant organization. When Miss Your State wins Miss USA, the numbers get a LOT higher, appearances get more frequent, and they probably split it three ways--Miss USA, the state organization she came out of, and the Miss USA organization. So they obviously did an impassionate financial analysis: the last six Miss USA winners were D cup, 27 of the current Miss Your States are D cup, Carrie's a B cup...off to the doctor you go.

I'd like to know how many of the Miss Your States were B or C cups before 2008...it's probably quite a few.
