A St. Charles man has been ordered to lay fresh flowers at the scene of a deadly Franklin County crash on the wreck’s anniversary for the next five years.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that the requirement was part of the five years of probation ordered Thursday for 19-year-old Keith Vierling. He also was sentenced to four months of “shock time” in jail.
Franklin County Circuit Judge Stanley Williams said he will issue a warrant for Vierling’s arrest if he doesn’t see the flowers on the anniversary of the May 21, 2006, crash.
Vierling was driving a speeding car that flipped several times, killing two 17-year-old girls from St. Charles — Claire Buse and Kelly Cuthbertson.
