Derek Buncom was serving a six-year sentence for residential burglary in Alaska when a prisoner DNA sample linked him to the 1999 sex attacks in Lompoc. One of the women was raped.
The 46-year-old Buncom pleaded guilty to three felony counts, including rape by force and torture, while a Santa Maria jury was being selected in February.
Prosecutor Stephen Foley says Buncom "expressed disgust in himself for his actions and said he wanted to spare the victims from having to testify."
He was sentenced Thursday by Superior Court Judge Edward Bullard.
