Can they make the Swine Flu go away by calling it HINI?
What about the folks who will think Swine Flu is over, ignore HINI and quit washing their hands?

If they're gonna change names, it has to be HINI?

Isn't changing the name of something for perception management purposes a Republicon trick?

What next, the Clear Lungs Initiative?

The Healthy Mucous Restoration Act?

What level is HINI at now?

Where can you get a mask for HINI protection?

Will we look back on the great HINI scare of '09?

What are your chances of getting HINI?

If we're sick, how long should we stay home with HINI?

Please, remember to wash your hands and cover your HINI.

:patriot:

1. The change came from three places
1.- THe US government, after pork sales futures fell, crashed what have you

2.- WHO recommendations after pigs were unnecessarily culled in places like Egypt

3.- The FAO (Food Agency for the UN) which warned of this as well

It is not perception management, it is the stoopid that broke out Hell we even had a pig farmer say that he was concerned his piggies would get it from infected people... never mind that it first emerged in piggies, stoopid in spades

Also the other religious nuttery that broke out, the Israeli Minister of Health would not use it since it was not ahem, kosher, and the same went for several arab countries

It wasn't done just because or to manage perceptions

And it has been A-H1N1 from the word go, technical name... of course we should also call it hinie

Oh and when all is said and done I am betting on North American Flu

asking if I should now start praying and giving burnt offerings

He is a class A religious nut bag... from the Torah party

You should know burnt offerings, preferably sheep or ram, are not supposed to be done until the Temple is built.

Ah how to properly insult that nutbag!

And he got the post since the PM, a nut of another flavor, needed them to form the government... Netanyahu is the nut of the purist kind...

Oh wait, just two different sub-groups

That would have been fun I guess.

Edited on Sat May-02-09 07:03 PM by nadinbrzezinski
are insulting to me

The insulting started when a husband told us we could not transport his wife, with a badly broken arm, because she was having her period and it was the Sabbath.

Lets just say I wasn't too nice to this man.

En-route I found somethings and got social services involved... it ended well for her

But that was my first intro to full scale nuttery... that was over 20 years ago

I should add, it has gotten much worst... much, much worst

Hell my older brother would do that if the wife wasn't the break... keeping kosher is a pain and then some and she won't do that

3. God forbid we actually
Call a virus by it's accurate scientific description. Although you still don't have the name right .it's H1N1/A. Not "HINI".and for testing and Id reasons it's kind of important to be specific

18. It's urgent that we change the name, and it is also sensible.
We will save the lives of a ton of pigs if we change the name to 2009 N1H1, because you have seen how stupid some nations are, that they will kill all of their pigs regardless of what scientiests tell them, causing a ton of useless suffering and also wasting tons and tons of meat.

I can't believe there are people complaining about the name change.

It's a trivial issue in the industrialized nation, where we are not superstitious, but it is a huge issue in developing countries that are very superstitious about pigs or lack an understanding of the biological properties of viruses.

19. The point is, it may be a joke to you, but it's not a joke to the millions of pigs who are going to
be killed for no good reason or the hundreds of millions of starving people those pigs can feed.

Eurasia.

It's sad to think people are that confused by terms and if it helps, so be it. Do you have any actual information that verifies what you're saying?

Milliions? In pens? Private farms where people aren't educated?

Should we be as concerned about the health and environmental impacts of factory farming inside and across the borders? Ground Zeroes for new strains of killer flu?

They named it R2D2 so we'll quit calling it "NAFTA Flu"?

It's not a joke.

Either is perception management.
