Who gets your vote for the craziest politician in America today?
There are sadly, too many to choose from. Michelle Bachman is a good choice, Michael 'hip-hop' Steele is another. But there's this guy from Georgia that caught my eye:

Georgia gubernatorial candidate Neal Horsley, a.k.a. “The One,” wants to secede from America because of the liberals. This charming fellow made headlines a few years ago when he got into an argument with Alan Colmes, who simply couldn’t understand why Horsley would fuck the shit out of mules.

(snip)

Asked if he was ready to sacrifice his own son in a national insurrection, Horsley recounts a fight with his son where he almost killed him.

“I was one foot from killing my own son, or hurting him really, really bad,” Horsley told Krider. “If he would have attacked me again, I would have stuck him. Or cut him or sliced him or done something to stop him. That’s the point, you hypothetical has literally already been worked out with me, and that’s what makes me different from the other candidates for Governor. They understand I’m not like no politician they have looked at, ever. I am prepared to do a John Brown. I’m not prepared to do an Abe Lincoln and talk out both sides of my mouth and try to get a majority together. I’m looking for the people who are prepared to go with me and take over the foundry, then set up shop and prepare to fight to the death. I’ll do it.”

I don't know if you can make this stuff up, not the least of which is a guy named Horsley who has sex with mules. He's my current choice, but I'd love to hear other candidates. They can be from any political stripe, Democrats have been known to be crazy sometimes as well (Marion Berry, for example).

1. Bachmann is seriously crazy, but it's hard to beat a mule fucker.
I used to live in Georgia, and liked most of the people I met there.
I obviously didn't meet Ol' Neal!

5. Bachman is a totally on this list.
-She wants to purge the Congress of un-Americans

-She just recently said that the last swine flu occurred under a Democratic President as well. It didn't-it happened under Ford

-She has a tendency to hide in the bushes to spy on gay rallies:

-and she still got re-elected

15. Actually, she said the swine flu occurred under a "Democrat" president.
Bachmann is immature and unprofessional, in addition to being insane and always wrong. The perfect right-winger!

2. Mules are better than chickens
Chickens will follow you around the next day. (So I've been told)
Certainly Lee Mercer has to be all up in the list somewhere.

4. I'd never heard of Lee Mercer, I had to look him up.
"On August 22, 1992, The State of Texas installed an intelligence hotwire in me at the United States Army Military Intelligence Academy Camp Bullis San Antonio, Texas."

("Meet Your New President: Lee L. Mercer Jr.")
http://wonkette.com/297224/meet-your-new-president-lee-l-mercer-jr

He's also a 'road scholar':

"I won road scholar from the United States Navy/United States Marine Corp. at West Point."

Yeah, he makes the crazy list.

3. I don't know if you can call him a "politician" just because he is running for office
As you say we have an ample supply of current and former elected officials to choose from. Bachmann, Berry, Inhofe, Katherine Harris, Blagojevich, Cheney, to name a few.

Even in Georgia I doubt if there's much chance mule fucker Neal Horsley would get elected. But he does seem to be nuttier than squirrel shit.

We had a guy run for something around here years ago in a raggedy ass Uncle Sam suit. And it was in sorry shape with permanent sweat stains in the armpits in a giant rip in the pant leg and one of the coattails unraveled. And he talked like an idiot. and smelled so bad you couldn't get within ten feet of him without noticing the odor. But he still got votes.

7. Yeah, I can see your point.
This guy seems to be at least somewhat influential in far far far right movement. He's actually a dangerous fellow, advocates the killing of abortion doctors for example-and helpfully supplies their address for those so inclined. Of course, he believes abortionists and homosexuals are destroying this country. And this is a guy who admitted to having sex with animals, and also-surprise!-men.

Methinks thou doth protest...etc.

8. Although I have to say, those on your list I generally agree with,
but not Cheney. Cheney is not crazy. Cheney is evil. There is a difference, but sometimes it can get lost.

9. For christ'sake, he admitted to fucking barnyard animals -
what else would you call him. Any normal person would be ashamed of that.

10. Actually the poster is taking some issue with my calling him a 'politician',
not with calling him crazy. I suppose that is technically correct since he hasn't actually held office anywhere yet that I can find, and hopefully never will. Maybe it's a testament to our democracy that an individual like him can actually file for running for a major office.

12. My point was he is a politician because he has sex with animals
and discusses it publicly as if it were an accomplishment.
I said he was crazy - but also meant that he is a politician by nature even if he is not in office at this time. With this background, the Republicans are certain to find a job for him somewhere.

11. Well I'd call him crazy which if you read my post, I did
But around here you would probably find a few people who might call him "son".

I didn't however call him a "politician". They have a bad enough rap without being joined by a mule fucker.
