People don't panic in the face of a crisis:

Stop, Drop and Roll
May 01, 2009

While some news outlets have been trying to put the H1N1 flu virus in perspective, others just can't resist a good panic story. They've been contacting New York University Sociology Professor Eric Klinenberg asking him to talk about the widespread panic in reaction to the flu. Only problem, there is no widespread panic. Klinenberg explains.

2. Bachman's district is full of wingnut churches
and they get their people out to vote en masse.

Normal people are starting to realize who and what she is. Her last election was very close and I don't think she'll be returned in 2010.

The problem isn't that they're stupid. The problem is that they're not alarmed or hopeful enough to get off the couch and go vote.
