Ok, place yer bets....
...what are the chances that Governor Schwarzenegger will jump ship and run against Barbara Boxer as a Democrat? His recent paen to Senator Kennedy and the influence of Maria certainly raise this as food for thought.

How do I describe Uncle Teddy? Everyone knows him as the Lion of the Senate, a liberal icon, a warrior for the less fortunate, a fierce advocate for health-care reform, a champion of social justice here and abroad and now even a Knight of the British Empire. But I know him as the rock of his family: a loving husband, father, brother and uncle. He's a man of great faith and character.

His personal story demonstrates that strength is built through struggle and hardship, and he shares that strength with tremendous compassion and empathy. Channeling his own experiences with tragedy and loss, he has personally touched the lives of countless others who have had to confront their own challenges.

Teddy, 77, is a heroic figure not just in the Democratic Party but in American politics in general. That's because he overflows with energy and passion, and he devotes that intense caring to serving people in need and fighting on behalf of their causes. While he and I do not agree on every political issue, I have always admired his ability to work across the political aisle on matters such as immigration, health care, civil rights, education and the environment.

1. That would be a huge leap
Perhaps not a huge leap from what he has DONE, but a huge leap from what he has SAID.

This is the man who said that he looked at the Democratic Party and its positions, and it was what he was trying to get away from when he left communist Austria.

WASHINGTON — In the strongest signal yet of her political ambitions, Carly Fiorina said Tuesday that she is "seriously considering" challenging U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer in next year's California Senate race.

Fiorina, who had surgery for breast cancer a month ago, said she is about to begin chemotherapy at Stanford Hospital, but then plans to resume a busy schedule.

The former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, 54, was a highly visible supporter and economic adviser to Republican Sen. John McCain in the 2008 presidential campaign.

Fiorina was in Washington to discuss tech issues in her new position as chair of the board of the Technology Policy Institute, a small, nonpartisan think tank.

4. Arnold is a tall celebrity and would make a big noise if he ran against Boxer
but Boxer is one tough customer with several terms' worth of support from very key constituencies.

I think she prevails in any potential matchup with Schwartzenegger.

5. I'd put up Barbara Boxer's record against Arnold's anyday.
His record is terrible, and CA Republicans would hate him and Dems will go for Boxer. Bring it on.
