A couple republican friends have started talking about "The revolution is coming"
I haven't gotten my free cap and toaster yet, but I'm wondering, what is this revolution, what's it about, who is promoting it, and why?

And if I were to sign up to get more info (and the toaster!), would I summarily be put into a homerland security list? (which is understandable; at times you don't want to take risks and playing James Bond and all that...)

4. And then we had a revolution
Actually, it's ongoing and remains to be seen whether it will work. But it HAS to be better than the last 28 years.

6. Didn't you know?
The GOP only lost the election because McCain wasn't conservative enough. Tens of millions of conservatives stayed home and didn't vote- that how the Democrats won the WH and so many seats.

They really believe this.

14. Don't forget ACORN!
Millions of fraudulently registered people named Mickey Mouse were able to vote, across the country.

8. Keyboard warriors
don't worry me. The rich and privileged usually don't start revolutions, they got too much to lose.

The occasional freeper reich wing nutcase who shoots up a Jewish center or church however is a clear and present danger...

9. Let them bring it. The primary reason most of us didn't during Bush.Cheney
Was the simple fact that unless you're real well armed and organized (they might be one but I highly doubt they have the capacity for the other) you're pretty much going to get your ass slaughtered in a NY liberal minute by our military.

Hey now. My oldest friend in the world is a republican, as is my mother.
I can't do much about who my mum is obviously and in my opinion neither of them really represent the evil side of the RW in any way, but you don't just discard friendships over some political differences. Who else will there be then to bring them back to the light?

19. No...
you don't just discard friendships over some political differences. It is way beyond political differences at this point. But if they are still repukes now they are either so far out of touch with reality that they should be institutionalized for the good of humanity, or they really support the policies of the last eight years, and should be incarcerated for the same reason. You should be allowed to supervise probation for your mother....;-)

16. Because I've found words of wisdom from many people in life. And share some common beliefs.
Including Republicans.

And I'd rather have any of them run for office instead of McCain/Palin/Bobby Jingo/Bridge Burnin' Pawlenty/et al.

(Not to mention, they're more moderate types too. :) )

12. They are simply idiots and gullible fools.
Republicons have been talking about this so called revolution even before Obama was elected. I know because when I made poll calls for the Democratic party here in the heart of Red Dixieland, the repukes I reached told me about the coming revolution if Obama got elected. In fact according to them, there was to be a huge protest to start off the revolution right after Obama was elected. But I never saw it.

I think they are referring to a White racist revolution.

but that's besides the point.
Mitt Romney seems to think we're all monarchists.
Wasn't there a Monty Python episode about this ????

from the Bush era and projecting them onto Obama.

Just like the "banana republic", "fascist" memes and even Beck's vampire idea is straight from old LW blogs.

17. I always "what if" about that topic..
I am hearing a lot of chatter about the coming civil war or a revolution from the conservatives.

The teabaggers are throwing their next protest on the Fourth of July.A lot of people are going to be off work. I just wonder if that isn't a powderkeg right there?

Some one should point out to them that they don't have the numbers.

24. Ha! Only if they can outsource it & get a tax write-off
Conservative, rich, old, white business bandits won't reschedule a Board meeting or pedicure for anything as bourgeois as a revolution! They never "fight" publicly - they bribe others to attack anonymously (it's cleaner & doesn't skew the toupee) or get a deferment.

Let's see - a new GOP revolution....hmmm. It will definitely be catered (nothing French). No public transportation can be involved (check the Lear Jet flight plans). Lots of security personnel with cool badges. Lots of aides & secretaries with names like Bambi and Raoul (representative of their deep feelings about marital fidelity and same-sex unions). A few anti-choice rants. Glenn Beck cries. John Boner cries and then hands out...

A large, leather-bound manifesto with Saint Reagan's face on the cover explaining tax-cut theology and fiscal conservatism (except to fund Big War, Big Oil & Big Pharma). Refreshments are served. The teabags all read "Clinton started it", "Obama's a Socialist", and "Be afraid!".

Oh yeah, Faux News will have exclusive coverage. I feel like I've left something out...:dilemma:

Edited on Sun May-03-09 11:55 AM by Warren Stupidity
I personally think that the number of bat shit crazy '(ab)normal suburban white males' is rather alarming. Citizens of the republic ought to find out what these freaks are up to and not count on our federal and state police to either care or not be totally compromised. I have a neighbor up the street who is a teabagger and he has meetings once a week at his house. They have swallowed the bullshit about the Obammunist takeover of the country and they are gunloons and liberloons and fundaloons all mixed together. Stupid and belligerent people with guns: not a good mix.
