Everybody gets a nice form for the usual symptoms of the flu... if any are checked yes, well patient is given a wonderful mask (for all you ninnies that claim they are useless), they are asked to seat away from the rest of the patients, and nurses (and docs) will wear the protective gear.

I also talked to my doc... hell I was on GROUND ZERO when this broke, so we had a good laugh about that. Never mind I am way after the potential for infection and we were both joking about this.

Here is what concerns CDC, (Yes already knew it, but perhaps the ninnies will get it) the second wave in Sept time frame. On the plus side, they SHOULD have a vax by the time second wave hits.

Get your flu shots, folks. They work. But get 'em early, before it starts spreading. If you wait until it's in your area, you may catch it during the time the vaccine needs to develop your immunity.

Last Fall's flu vaccine contained an A-type H1N1 flu virus, plus an H3N2 virus. It's really funny...all the misinformation out there. Google 2008 Flu Vaccine, and you'll see.

A-type flus come around every few years, and H1N1 flus are not at all uncommon in humans. Most of our flus are hosted in animals before becoming infectious to humans.

This one's not all that different, except that it has both swine and avian components, plus the human ones, now.

From the CDC, here are the three flu types contained in the vaccine for the 2008-2009 season. As you see, there are two type A varieties and one Type B. :

"The flu vaccine protects against the three main flu strains that research indicates will cause the most illness during the flu season. This year’s influenza vaccine contains three new influenza virus strains. They'll do the same with this "swine" flu, and combine it with whatever other strains they think may strike:

Here is a clue from the data emerging from mexico, the sick and dead mostly came from marginalized areas.

There are two possibilities

Private docs are not reporting, a no-no and against the rules, but possible

The better to do got the vaccine while the poor didn't. And while the Mexican child immunization program is a model (yep got to chase kids at one point), the outreach for the poorer for things like the Flu is best left to luck.

So combine that, with lower nutritional status, higher upper respiratory such as ashtma, there you go... if this is very mild they'd be the ones to buy it
