Miss California USA Carrie Prejean still has time to shed her bigotry.

“I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage,” Prejean said. “And you know what? I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

So many people are raised on stupid. So many people like to justify their stupidity, ignorance and bigotry on how they were raised. Fine. Then your parents are fucking morons and you are just blatantly ignorant and have yet to understand that you have your own brain and can make your own decisions.

Hopefully with the soon to be lost title of Miss California, due to her boob flashing, she can reassess her life and come to the conclusion that:

1)she made some really stupid choices that cost her her title

2)it was her upbringing that also led her to flash her boobies, because like the ignorance that she was brought up under to believe that all people aren't equal, it was that same upbringing that gave her the same set of morals to flash her boobs and lose her title.

Somehow...I don't think she will make the same link. the fundies will forgive her when she says, "oops! I sinned! I'm pretty and stupid, please forgive me!"

They will because nothing says free publicity like a fallen American Idol like a beauty queen that flashes her boobs.

While I disagree firmly with her views, even 'in her family'. I contest it's her right to be a bigot. But it's not her right to impose her beliefs on others. The "In my country" comment was exactly that - an attempt to push for legislation of her beliefs.

19. When I was in college, I worked in a camera store

and this Christian Metal band came in looking for a soft-focus filter (because "the drummer is all old looking" and whatnot...lol), but anyway, the lead singer was this platinum "blonde" with big fake boobs wearing a half shirt that said "JESUS" across her chest.

alone. They are saying what they say. She has dropped her former 'cause', the Special Olympics, and gone to work as a spokesperson for an anti-equality group. She 'went beyond the right to voice her beliefes...' that would be the answer..'and instead reveals her opprotunistic agenda'...that would be all the stuff that has followed, including the photos and the grandstanding divisive politics.
So they are saying her answer was her right, but the rest was her agenda.
