David Plouffe: Lessons on Bipartisanship from Rove are like

<snip>

"This is like getting interview lessons from Sarah Palin," said David Plouffe in regard to Karl Rove speaking on bipartisanship. The joke was met with laughter and boos from the audience.

The lively debate included a few raised voices, some laughter and on a few occasions outbursts from the audience. Two women interrupted the lecture when they yelled, "Why should anyone believe you?" to Rove while holding a sign that said "Arrest Rove."

Outside the conference center, about 15 protesters also expressed disappointment with Panetta's decision to invite Rove.

Salinas resident Susan Hubbarb, 53, held a sign that said "Rove Outta Here."

"(Rove) is a criminal," Hubbarb said. "We're just upset he's been invited here."

When it came to talking about Obama's efforts in bipartisanship, Plouffe said despite people turning out in record numbers in the last presidential election voting for a change of political direction, Obama wants to work with Republicans.

According to Rove, Obama mishandled his first 100 days in terms of reaching out to Republicans.

"I'm troubled by the attitude of the (Obama) administration when reaching out to Republicans," Rove said pointing to a Gallup Poll showing a 61-point gap between the president's approval rates from Democrats and Republicans.

1. Rove is troubled by Obama's attitude?
Considering the relative approval ratings of Obama and the Republicans, I'd say the attitude Obama should demonstrate to the Republicans is one of bull prisoner to his fourth or fifth bitch. Anything more deferential than that, and the Republicans might start thinking they're participating in a democracy, and that's just not the case.

4. I agree
No Democrat should participate in anything with Rove until he shows up for Congressional hearings.

10. "61-point gap between the president's approval rates from Democrats and Republicans."
That would be real troubling except for the fact that there aren't many Republicans out there. What is it, like 20%?

EPIC FAIL.
