If only the Congress was as progressive as New England Legistatures |

In the past month or so, 3 New England legislatures have passed marriage equality. That's hundreds of dems and a handful of republicans who have taken a decisive position on a big civil rights issue. Finding a Congressional dem who will stand up on this issue is not so easy.
Maine, NH and Vermont state legislators deserve kudos for passing marriage equality. Congress deserves a big raspberry.

1. I'm shocked how quickly the NE moved in the last few months. |

I'm embarrassed for IL. We're a supposedly progressive state and we don't have marriage equality. I'm hoping that when the IL sees that NE has not turned into a pillar of salt, we can move forward to join the rest of the civilized world.

2. I'm not shocked. This plan has been in the works for years. |

I am really impressed though.
