Poll question: I'm a missing person, presumed dead. The cable networks love me because...
Edited on Wed May-06-09 05:32 PM by Mike 03
I admit, this is not one of the more thoroughly-considered polls I've ever written; I'm emotional because I've had some experience with these issues, find them very complex, and can't even begin to suggest the permutations of how this whole system of "choosing the perfect victim" seems to operate as I see it.

I don't think it is just race, or where one stands within the economic hierarchy, although I do think these are components.

But I'm more interested in what others think, and how they make sense of the kaleidoscope of the "attractive victim."

5. No need to panic. They have Geraldo on the case.
FOX is always first with whatever they can fill 24x7 of nothingness with.

6. ..... because sensationalist stuff is easy for people to comprehend ...
... whereas reporting real news and talking about the issues this country faces would require real brainpower and actual journalists, and neither the networks nor most of the American populace has any interest in any level of responsible thinking.

8. You say you don't understand why, but it sounds like you have a firm grasp of marketing ideology.
Sounds like you pegged it pretty close, if not dead on.
