To be sure, the arrest of the teenager is real enough. FBI agents investigating a February 15 bomb hoax that evacuated the mechanical engineering building at Purdue University traced the phone call to the juvenile’s Oxford, North Carolina home, served his mother with a search warrant and arrested the teen. They issued a press release about it, ommiting the suspect’s name. That was on March 5, and he’s been held without bail in Indiana ever since.

The claim that the boy is a victim of USA PATRIOT, though, appears to have been cut from whole cloth. While there’s plenty to criticize in that post-9/11 law, it doesn’t contain any provision that abrogates a defendant’s right to a trial. It’s also not responsible for making it illegal to phone in a bomb threat. That’s been a federal crime since 1939.

The boy’s mother, Annette Lundeby, has even acknowledged in interviews that her son has been formally charged, has a court-appointed attorney, and has already made appearances in front of a judge. No military tribunals here. On Alex Jones, Lundeby seemed to more-or-less admit that the USA PATRIOT connection was something she dreamed up on her own.

Like, should that not have been illegal since the inception of the telephone? Are you saying that it's been illegal to yell "fire" in a crowded theater for longer than it's been illegal to call randoms and tell them they're about to be blown up?

11. Mother does not say she dreamed up Patriot Connection.

She says, 16 year old had a phone that might have been hacked. FBI agent say's no IP hacking can happen at pre-trial. The Alex Jones show that you site, has the mother indicating that 16 is not getting due process via 14th amendment rights. Also mother comments that her sons fifth amendment right being denied because she was not allowed to call for attorney and only a court appointed attorney who's lack of attention concerned this mother.

Patriot Act:
Infringes on the right to privacy and removes many types of judicial review over intelligence activities.
The USA PATRIOT Act permits the government to scrutinize peoples' reading habits by monitoring public library and bookstore records, without notifying the suspect. It also allows for "sneak and peak" tactics such as physical search of property and computers, wiretapping and monitoring of email, and access to financial and educational records, without providing notification. These activities contradict the right to be free from arbitrary interference with individuals' privacy, as protected in the U.S. Constitution and the ICCPR.

Gag order prevents mother from getting any info. on her minor child.


USA PATRIOT Act threatens the rights protected in the U.S. Constitution: This mother is living this nightmare, and she does nothing to suggest that this Patriot act connection is dreamed up. She knows what she is talking about. In the middle of the night her child is ripped from their home, and no explanation, and she is not given any time to get a attorney they give her one she believes is not attentive.

13. Yeah and? Hate to tell you but you really need to stop watching Law and Order type TV

shows and get a clue on real life. As anyone who has ever been arrested or accused of a crime can tell you, TV is BS. Police have used the detaining of suspects for up to 72 hours before charging them with a crime for many many years. You have a right to a phone call, after being charged with a crime, when said call is OKed is up to the police. I don't know of many lawyers that are on call 24/7, most folks when they get their 1 phone call usually call someone to post bail for them not calling lawyers until after they are bailed out.

As far as the rest of what you say, well yeah the P Act sucks but means little as police have been doing this for as long as I can remember. Ask anyone thats been railroaded through the system on how much justice there really is, your in for an eye opener. For one thing 99% of all cases get settled through the plea bargain, your court appointed lawyer, the DA and the judge pushes the person to take the plea. I heard judges come out in open court saying that if the accused doesn't accept the plea bargain, the person will be facing the stiffest penalties he can give them for wasting his time if found guilty by a jury.

There is no such thing as innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, its guilty until proven innocent and your not innocent as everyone is guilty of some criminal law. It's one of the major reasons so many on death row have been shown to be innocent of the crime they were charged with, that is only the tip of the ice berg. Police are not your friends, they are out to arrest as many people as they can to fill prison quotas and to scare folks into giving up more freedoms for the ideal of safety.

I watch law and order. If you have served your country you know you take an oath to uphold the law. If you and others will give it away as easily as others want to take it from you, well that is just too sad. I do agree with you prison planet theory.

23. Who cares the american justice system sucks and has sucked a long

time before the P act was ever thought of. The thing is the 16 year old wasn't treated any differently then anyone else accused or arrested for a crime. End of story. Who cares about what Poulsin says? I am basing my opinion on having dealt with getting caught up in the system and believe me its all crap.

She just doesn't understand what is going on. Most people do not understand what goes on in courts or with regard to legal matters unless they can read an explanation written in simple language and in addition, have a lawyer explain things to them.
