Because he is taking to task a mother for trying to get attention for what she believes is a hacked phone system that the FBI repudiated in pre-trial. She believes her sixteen year old is being prosecuted under the Patriot Act whether the Govt. admits it or not. It's ironic that Paulson's crime is for hacking people's personal communication. In June 1994, Poulsen pleaded guilty to seven counts of mail, wire and computer fraud, money laundering, and obstruction of justice, and was sentenced to 51 months in prison and ordered to pay $56,000 in restitution. It was the longest sentence ever given for hacking up to that time. It is this man's crime that could of been used to highlight what this mother is actually saying. Technology was used to hijack her son's account and scapegoat him for a crime he didn't do.
