So Hermione and Luna were talking about Virginia Foxx and here bigoted comment about Matt Sheppard's hate crime murder being a hoax, where Luna relayed the story pretty accurately. Hermione cut in and said "Let me guess. She's a Republican."
Luna said "Of course!"

Juts as that exchange happened, Malfoy walks by and butts in saying "Did either of you go to Diversity Training?" The response was yes, because everybody went through that awful yawnfest 45 minute video last week. So Malfoy puffs up his plume and says "Then you can't say those things about Republicans. It's making fun of people based on who they are."

Hermione was pissed at Malfoy for this BS, but she's not a flame thrower like me. She IMs me about this exchange and my reply to her, which I copied and IM'd 12 others is as follows.

... Unfortunately Malfoy's right. The EEO policy at Hogwarts Telephone and Telegraph states that you can't discriminate against, poke fun at, criticize, or denigrate anyone based on their sex, color, ethnicity, sexual orientation...yada, yada.... physical disability or mental disability. There's no rule protecting anyone based on political POVs, but the Mentally Disabled, there is. Republicans have to fall into that category. Nobody would be one if they weren't batshit.
