I'm honestly happy that Tom Ridge isn't running in PA
I think he would have been the Republican hardest to beat and I want Democrats to retain this seat. I want the GOP to now nominate a hard line conservative and I want the Dems to nominate a REAL DEMOCRAT who will vote the way we need him/her to vote. Sorry, Senator Specter, it appears from the way you have been behaving that isn't you.

1. He was the only Republcan who could win
Maybe Jim Gerlach, but seems to want to run for governor. If we're stuck with Specter, we'll live with it, but now we have the chance at getting a real Democratic senator, and I hope that that man is Joe Sestak.

2. Ridge would have beaten Specter, so Democrats can feel somewhat relieved.

It looks like we will have to order a lot clothespins to pinch our noses in the general election with Specter supported by the Democratic leaders.

3. I am through holding my nose to vote. I will openly skip that race if Spectre is on the ballot.
And no "Democrat" who supports the piece of shit will get an ounce of support (or vote) from me.

Here's the question - is there room for Democrats in our big tent?
