8. It is if they aren't reacting
to actual complaints, but their own projected suppositions & prejudices of how Muslims "would act". If there was a big Muslim movement to ban Holocaust history in British schools, I'll change my mind. If there was not, this is a decision that does not come from Muslims, but British administrators who have misrepresented the actual position of the Muslim community.

4. There's probably more than a couple of Neo-Confederates who overlap with Neo-Nazis here.
As a result, I say teaching it must be made paramount. The only way to stamp out ignorance is with education and the application of reason and facts.

10. It's because ALL MUSLIMS ARE HOLOCAUST DENIERS
Don't you get it? All Muslims are evil, therefore we have to nuke Iran.

11. Sounds more like a Lou Dobbs type question.
Sounds like a great tactic for European racists, spread holocaust denial, then blame muslims for it.

12. Honestly, I thought they already stopped teaching it.
I taught a college ethics course about 9 years ago. One of my students was a Jewish adult whose parents were Holocaust survivors. I invited her parents to come to the class to tell us about their experiences. Normally they would not have done this, but it was the same year that Steven Spielberg's crew had come to their home to tape their stories for his film series "Shoah".

Her father was a teenager during the war and he was running from place to place with other teenagers hiding from the Nazis during the war, meanwhile 9 family members were killed in Auschwitz. After the war ended he went back to his house and there were other people living in it. He had already realized that his family was dead, but he thought the home would be his. They told him to go away and never come back. He ended up coming to America at age 17 with no shoes on his feet. He met his wife, another Jew, from another country, who did not speak the same language. They were together 50 years later and they always said Hitler arranged our marriage.

There were 3 twenty year olds in my class who told me later that they had never heard there were 6 million Jews killed during WWII. There were 2 nuns in my class and one of them did not come to class that night- I think she was very anti-Semitic. It was a Catholic college.

13. This is, I believe, I response to this story from Britain:

Schools have avoided teaching the Holocaust and the Crusades in history lessons because they are concerned about causing offence to Muslim pupils or challenging "charged" versions of history which children have been taught at home, government research has found.

A report for the Department for Education and Skills found that a history department in a northern city had avoided selecting the Holocaust as a GCSE topic for fear of confronting "anti-semitic sentiment and Holocaust denial" among some Muslim pupils.

Another school decided to teach the Holocaust despite anti-semitic sentiment among students, but avoided the Crusades as "their balanced treatment of the topic would have directly challenged what was taught in some local mosques".

The report, Teaching Emotive and Controversial History, also revealed that one school was challenged by Christian parents for teachers' treatment of the Arab-Israeli conflict.

15. I bet that is horseshit
just like all the studies that have concluded things now known to be false, all revolving around the common thread of supporting a desired and rumored war.
