Bush and Cheney No Longer On Speaking Terms
So says Keith Olbermann.

Apparently Bush blames Cheney for his failed presidency.

No worries George: there's enough blame to spread around.

8. Not that we needed confirmation...
...but if it's true that Bush blames Cheney, then that's solid confirmation that
Cheney was always in the driver's seat and Bush was just the electable one who
did the ceremonial speeches and press conferences.

Cheney and the rest of the neocons probably didn't even allow W at the big-boy table,
where the major decisions were made. They made the decisions and told him what
he would be reading on the teleprompter.

Heckuvajob Cheney.

37. That was just a calculated move to keep from getting questions
Cheney knows full well that he will get national coverage if he opens his mouth to say anything. He just wants to control the 'interview' so he picks a small outlet and host who probably quake in his presence. With Cheney everything is about control and power. Everything.

38. I disagree .........
That was Cheney getting his message out to the "heartland," as he sees it. Just a very simple way of keeping himself - and his message - in the news, and it's working. Here we are, talking about him.

He could do any interview in Washington and not get asked any hard questions. Who the hell ever asked Cheney any hard questions about ANYTHING? No one.

He got off that "So?" response to Martha Radich, and she let him get away with it. They all fear him, plus they're all suckass "journalists."

14. Does George know that he was the front man? the fund raiser? the adorable born again to little
followers of Pat Robertson and Rush and Sean and Karl etc.?

Remember that look on his face when Andrew Card whispered in his ear? When and if we ever hear the straight story, it will be a big part of the many stories to come. It represented more about a WH coup than it was about George play-acting a resolved victim role.

15. Has George finally realized that he failed?
It's hard to keep all the failures straight, but I seem to remember that it was the boy king who wanted to invade Iraq before he even got into the White House. Cheney would have been happy to invade or torture anyone, as long as Halliburton got $$$$$ and he got his snuff films.

24. Serious question: Is it possible that Bush only now is realizing he failed? Was he bubble boy?
I think this might be a real possibility. He bragged that he did not read newspapers. He may in fact be unable to read a newspaper. Condi had to read to him.

Everything bit of information he got was from briefers and handlers who were controlled by Cheney. Part of Darth Vader's strategy was to keep pumping up Shrub's ego with tales of his own magnificent success.

Is it possible that he is only learning of the scale of his failure now?

26. Yes, I think that is quite possible and indeed probable.
The easiest way to control someone is by controlling their information, I think that's what happened to Bush, he's an incurious intellectual lightweight, a perfect candidate for such a ploy to be eminently successful.

27. I think that is entirely possible...
.. certainly during his presidency he gave no indication that he understood that most of the country considered him a failure before he left office.

I don't blame it entirely on "handlers" I blame it on delusional hubris.

But it's pretty hard to look at America right now and NOT think his presidency was an abject failure, even for the deluded.

30. his laziness got the better of him.
used to others doing the heavy lifting for him. he probably saw it as an extension of his term in Texas where the underling carries more power and does the real work (except signing death warrants).

besides, there was always daddy to clean up after him (or so he thought).
