Republican Party going from "Joke" to "Pathetic"
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele has a message for President Barack Obama and his stated goal of replacing Justice David Souter with a judge who brings empathy to the Supreme Court bench: "Empathize right on your behind."

Sitting in for host Bill Bennett on the "Morning in America" radio show Friday, Steele, a lawyer, said Obama should be searching for a judge who understands the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law.

"Crazy nonsense empathetic! I'll give you empathy. Empathize right on your behind. Craziness!" Steele told a radio audience.

:eyes:

It's not "empathy" when judges rule for corporations exclusively.

1. Aw cut the guy some slack
Michael Steele thinks he has to make nutty pronouncements to prove he is nutty enough for the nut wing of the nutjob republician party.

Personally I think he is doing fine in that category but the lunatic fringe still has some doubts.

So you have this spectacle of an idiot trying to act even more idiotic to please a gang of idiots.

It's not productive but it is kind of funny.

5. It's All A Big Game...
You are spot on...right now the rushpublicans are in a shouting match. It's like a bunch of school kids who need to show the others they're the toughest or "coolest" in the group. It's saying stupid things or making a scene only for the "benefit" of the others in the group. What we see as funny and outrageous, they see as showing their "coolness".

Call it a race to the bottom as the GOOP is still in its denial phase. To their horde, shit happened. It wasn't "conservatism" that failed, but (name your politician here). They refuse to believe that their "philosophies" have been discredited and that all that's happened in the past three years has been some kind of media conspiracy. Those that are trying to move the party into the acceptance stage are shouted down...thus their downhill slide continues.

Steele is the most amusing as he was a figurehead from the outset and has never found his place in the "boys club". You can see him getting frustrated at being the "token" while trying to show he's "one of the boys".

Amusing indeed...

2. Obama will do just that
Steele and the rest of the reich wing should be careful what they wish for. Obama - who was a Constitutional law professor - will choose someone who understands the Constitution and the rule of law, and whoever it is it'll be a nightmare for the reich wing.

3. Empathize right on your behind?
Is that the new republican slogan? Am I going to see that on a bumper sticker?

4. You can have your Michael Steele, we'll keep our Tiger Woods.
For the quick to anger crowd, this is a reference to a McCain rally where Obama was referred to as the Dem. Tiger Woods.

6. Someone creative should come up with a color coded threat meter
to keep us advised on the GOP extinction threat. It must be at least orange for "extremely high probability that Rushthink is in control of the message."
