Really, if you are a teacher and having sex with a minor, have the common sense not to put on your My Space page. That is just plain common sense.
Teacher Charged With Sex With GirlMICHAEL WILSON | THE LEDGER...ALLEN JAMES GUERIN, 28, a math teacher at Haines City High School,...makes his first appearance Friday at the Polk County Jail Annex in Bartow on charges he had sex with a 16-year-old female student.Allen James Guerin, 28, of Haines City is charged with unlawful sexual activity with certain minors, a second-degree felony. Guerin met the girl, who was 16 at the time, through her participation in school activities. He was a former coach of the school's cross country track team.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Guerin's wife discovered the affair when she read on Guerin's MySpace page that he was falling in love with the girl. Guerin broke off the relationship and the girl told her parents, who reported it to authorities.
The relationship started in September, when Guerin and the girl began communicating by cell phone and through text messages. As they grew closer, the girl confided in Guerin about her ex-boyfriends and other personal issues, according to a sheriff's report.
Sometime before Thanksgiving break, Guerin told the girl he had strong feelings for her, but was "confused about the birth of his child," the report said. During break, Guerin told the girl his feelings had surpassed those of a teacher-student relationship.
He was confused about her after the birth of his child? Guess he never thought about kids and responsibility before that.
He is not the first Polk teacher to face charges that he crossed the line with a student. Isaac Tillis, 30, a former math teacher at Bartow High School, was arrested in December 2007 on allegations of soliciting a minor. Authorities allege that he offered to raise a student's grade if she would have oral sex with him. Danielle Jones, 32, a former sixth-grade science teacher at Stambaugh Middle School in Auburndale, was arrested in June on charges she had sex with four teenage boys, including two former students.
