This is a money racket pure and simple. Our privatized prison system is the major reason for this insane policy.

imprisonment, sale, growing, distributing, etc.

When will we wake up and realize the GOOD that could come out of legalizing pot?

9. hate to say it, but it will only happen when they get sick.

i don't wish illness on anyone. but when you're chronically sick, it totally changes your perspective. Many of these enforcers and policy-makers are incapable of having enough empathy to imagine what it's like to be in constant pain, unable to tolerate other pain meds, etc.. Until it happens to them or to someone they love, they'll keep on enforcing those stupid laws.

10. That's true for the case of medical marijuana use, shireen, but what about the use

of marijuana as a "recreational" drug? The influence of the law enforcement/pharmaceutical/prison lobby coupled with the right-wing "pleasurable things are bad" theme seem to have a solid grip on our lawmakers.

let's get marijuana approved for medical use so it will become more mainstream.
as people get used to the idea and realize that it's not the demon drug, there will be more acceptance to make it legal for all to use. If lawmakers are resistant, we can start a nationwide movement to ban alcohol and cigarettes. :evilgrin:
