It seems to this curmudgeon that the left is doing to humor what it has done to our language. It has boiled the meaning out of good old words and food colored them afresh with new and distorted meanings.

Yes, I remember Ronald Reagan's humor it was trenchant and certainly punchy but without malice. It was funny as hell because it was, at its core, true. Now we have this execrable example of a comedian whose qualifications are unknown, at lease to me, unburdening himself/herself of a deranged and tasteless rant and then expecting approving laughter and applause. Humor cannot be deranged from truth anymore than language should be deranged from the meaning of the words.

Clearly the one individual emerging from this affair with dignity intact is Rush Limbaugh who steadfastly refuses to demean himself by appearing.

If anybody deserves a good hard kick in the balls, it's Limbaugh. And this is true, not just out of a rank desire for payback; such a response is needed to confirm just how thoroughly irrelevant Limbaugh is, now. You people who are continuing to advocate not getting down on the right wing haters' level, whining that Democrats should play by all the rules while the fascists go on their merry destructive way, are getting to be just as irrelevent, as well.....
