14. I'd be willing to put money on that bet.
If it would ever come to testifying his handlers will delay as long as they can. Then he'll pull a Bill Casey and take a dirt nap just before he's to appear.

This shitweasel was dodging the question, and it will probably turn out to be a "no" in the future, but let's be accurate when passing along info to DU'ers who aren't watching.

And Clinton was IN office at the time.

19. Before a Grand Jury, yes.
Edited on Sun May-10-09 10:01 AM by dem629
But this was about the Congress.

Frankly, I'd rather go the Grand Jury route on this. They'd have less of a case for resistance and it would be less of a spectacle.

I can see why the dirty, rotten criminal is so concerned.

As my wife once said, "I hope he gets fucked in the butt by a German Shepherd."

That was one of the funniest moments of my entire life. I couldn't stop laughing.

Boy, I wish us LITTLE PEOPLE could disregard the law with such impunity.

I am so sick of the sense of entitlement of our entire ruling class.

I say we make all their laws that they made should also APPLY TO THEM, TOO!

29. TORTURE
Edited on Sun May-10-09 10:21 AM by 90-percent
Not to mention I firmly believe so much of the torture was done merely as an outlet for Bush and Cheney's appetite for SADISM!

186 waterboardings? Like Professor Alfred McCoy said recently on Democracy Now, he could see no other purpose for much of the torture as nothing more than pure sadism.

Google this Professor. I still have hopes of his Democracy Now video going viral.

30. That's why Wanda's analogy last night
was so good. She compared Bushco's torture with robbing and bank and then telling the judge how many bills she had paid.
If the means is illegal, it cannot justify the ends.
Cheney's argument is that DOJ made it legal, but DOJ cannot make war crimes legal. Condi's argument is that if the President authorizes it it cannot be illegal.

Meanwhile Cheney threw Bush under the bus live on CBS and said Bush authorized it. This despite the fact that Bush said live on TV more than a few times - we don't do torture.

All these criminals have been caught lying in public and the only question is why they are still not locked up.

Oh by the way he dared to mention the anthrax attack.

32. That's the "joke" Wanda Sykes made last night
When she referred to Cheney defending torture by saying they obtained information. She said that's like telling the judge "yes your honor, I robbed the bank but look how many bills I was able to pay off."

33. Yep
By the way the Dick also said that if he had to choose who represented the Republican party more between Colin Powell and Rush Limbaugh, he'd choose Rush. He added that he didn't know Powell was still a member of the Republican Party.

That will come back to haunt him.

31. We've been down this road before, the terrain is boringly familiar..
What we will hear is an endless string of "I don't recall" if Ctheney ever does get on the stand under oath.

Is there no one that remembers Iran Contra?

Or has the whole damn country succumbed to Alzheimers?

36. Fuck you, you cutless coward!
How many deferments did you manage to come up with? (Boy you talk like a tough MAN)

If what you and Georgie did was so GODDAMS legal and upright, what do you fear testifying under oath? The oath is only promising to tell the TRUTH.

I pray there are Democrats and one or two Republicans outraged over your rape of the constitution and angry enough to hold you accountable.
