Palin backs out of NRA fundraiser - won't be getting her custom-made gun

Hey pubies, here's my question: do you ever get tired of posting stories like "oh wow! SARAH's going to be appearing at _______ event! I'm getting front row tickets!" only to find out that that she has backed out and you then have to post a story that says, "Good for you Sarah! I'm glad you aren't going to that thing that I was really excited you were going to a month ago!"

We know that she's a disappointment to you. We know she keeps letting you down. We've known she's a complete moran for 9 months. It's okay, you can admit it. A few of you already have, it's okay.

The National Rifle Association Foundation will not present an assault weapon to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin at an upcoming banquet despite media reports about the event, including one from its own magazine.

"The event is not happening," NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said. "Sarah Palin will not be attending. She was invited, but declined due to a family commitment. This happened weeks ago."

Several newspapers picked up a story published in the May issue of the NRA's American Rifleman magazine that said the governor would be given a custom AR-15 at the foundation's May 16 banquet.

The rifle, specially chambered for a .50 Beowulf cartridge, was made by Templar Consulting gunmaker Bob Reynolds and features a Big Dipper, an outline of the state of Alaska, a moose and an NRA logo as well as an inscription, "In Honor of Governor Sarah Palin."

1. "Family Commitment?" What, another abstinence malfunction?
I thought she had to deal with ice melting in Alaska. Did ya'll know that she's a governor of a state?

4. Maybe Sarh has seen the writing on the wall or has been told to
cool it by some repugs....She's been backing out of some high profile stuff that ordinarily would be good for a wannabe. Perhaps she's seen the light and it was the train.
