Bob Menendez is against single payer..... |
|
Edited on Mon May-11-09 03:03 PM by TheCoxwain
I called up his office to seek support for single payer..
The person answering the phone was non-committal and said that the senator had no position as yet..
Why else would the senator not be open on this issue with so much support among democrats.
Didnt sound good...

1. The only reason anyone of these senators would not want it is |
|
because they are corporate shills...

2. Many Senators treat their votes like a commodity |
|
A commodity that is open for bidding.

3. My Blue Dog rep says the same. He wrote me a letter back saying |
|
they don't know what the reforms will be yet and was non-committal. Which is BS.

5. Nothing against calling to seek support, but |
|
I wouldn't get my hopes up for a single payer system. It is not going to happen.

it shouldn't be an option....god, I'd love to have it....but it is just not reasonable to expect congress to do away with all the insurance companies.

7. The power has never been in the Whitehouse |
|
Edited on Mon May-11-09 03:31 PM by newinnm
The power has always always always been in the congress. Its distressing to me that so many people thought that putting one of us in the whitehouse was going to solve everything. Our agenda will pass when we have our people in the congress.

11. I dont believe the president should be super Powerful |
|
How The congress will always be more responsive to the people than the president. No congress person can be elected with lett than 50% of the popular vote but a president can. What Im saying is that we all know that progressives make up more than 50% of the vote in every state. If we can get them out to vote and elect progressives then and only then can we get our agenda through.
