Ok, I got an idea for health care....

Single Prayer coverage.

Every time someone prays to God for help, they get charged a hefty fee - at least until they meet their deductible.

If they cannot afford the prayer plan, they can't pray except maybe in a serious life threatening situation, and then they must wait until other people in worse off positions get their prayers answered first.

I am sure that this was the plan Jesus wanted for us all. Compassion, taking care of each other, helping out those less fortunate, etc and so on was never part of his plans. Got to keep that OT tithing going and income from prayers for help.

Can't pay to pray? Sorry, that is your fault. Can't save yourself from your sins with money - you are out of luck. You don't think Jesus died for nothing did you? He wanted some cold hard cash and his crucifixion was an investment.

In a nation where many call themselves Christian (including myself) I am astounded how thoughtless folks are when it comes to helping others survive.

Family, friends, helping each other out...oh well maybe not when it comes to the big things.

Maybe some folks don't feel we DESERVE health care, living wages, a helping hand.

I hope God switches to a prayer plan like the health plans those on the RW are defending. maybe then their eyes will open.

2. How do you propose to collect the tax

Do you recommend that members of the IRS are assigned to all the churches so that prayers can be properly taxed. What about a resident IRS agent in the bedrooms of folks that say prayers every night. That would work, that way not one cent would go uncollected. Of course, if folks became atheist, then there would be absolutely no taxes for health care. Would that be a satisfactory situation? What does Jesus have to do with the price of tea in China.
How about an IRS agent in each mosque. Caesar collects taxes not Jesus.

4. it matters very much.

In your proposal, you propose taxing prayers. No problem with that. But for it to be a viable program, you should have a least a clue as how to make it work. Otherwise it is so much verbal flatulence. Your OP was not about profit or investors. it was about taxing prayer to pay for health care.

We all chip in some extra, via taxes like we do for police/firefighters, for health care.

I don't have to show the cops or firefighters a card when I have a need for them. Why do we have to do so for health care?

We have those people around because we have some higher values - like health and safety, and we are happy to pay for such services.

The RW gladly pays for such, and a military, because they say they want us to be safe. Yet when it comes to health care they see it differently.

your proposal was to tax those that prayed. You have avoided answering the question, how are you going to collect your proposed prayer tax. It has nothing to do with "we all chip in some extra". You proposed taxing those that pray. How will you do it. Or maybe you aint got a fucking clue, because you were just shooting off the first stupid idea that popped into your mind.

9. Uh....let me dumb it down some

The rw, mainly made up of fundies/christians, is opposed to health care reform.

Yet they expect God to give them free health care just by praying.

Was hoping they might understand the plight of others better if we spoke on their terms and applied the same values they are holding to the situation.
