ACTION PAGE:
Why Is The Senate Not Even Considering The Only Health Care Plan That Really Works?
11,956 Submissions so far
How many police does it take to silence the voice of the people?

That's a question a despot might ask in a totalitarian police state. But this week the Senate Finance Committee thought it was a hilarious joke as they ejected one brave activist after another, for protesting that not even one spokesperson for single payer health care was being allowed to sit at the hearing table. Yes, Senator Max Baucus (MT), who had preemptively declared that consideration of a single payer option was off the table, actually joked "We need more police." <1:58 on video> And the rest of the Senate panel just laughed their heads off.

Senator Chuck Grassley (IA), the ranking Republican, not to be outdone in his contempt for the people, then asked if there was "somewhere they can watch it on television <2:05 on video>," which elicted additional hearty guffaws. Yes, what a wonderful entertaining show that would be, the spectacle of the will of the people being excluded while corporate special interests, like butchers, carve up our pocketbooks and our bodies.

It's time for the U.S. Senate to get the message that we the people are not just a joke to be laughed off. Why is it that not ONE senator on that committee has the integrity to stand up for a even handed debate of health care issues? Why should any of them be elected to public office ever again?

The one click form below will send your personal message to all your government representatives selected below, with the subject "Put Single Payer Health Care On The Table Now." At the same time you can send your personal comments only as a letter to the editor of your nearest local daily newspaper if you like.

My personal ad on

As a retired Army Vet I was appalled to learn that the nurse practitioner that was treating me at the Navy base Medical clinic could not afford treatment for her skin cancer! As a contractor to the military she did not receive health benefits and has to come up with the $5,000.00 to pay for her treatments out of her own pocket! That is despicable treatment for those who treat our young men & women that protect us. Members of Congress both the House and the Senate do not have that problem now do they!

More Faxes With Personal Stories
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now you can write your own story. Write about how health insurance scams have ruined your life. Write about how loss of a job means loss of insurance means loss of health care. Write about the anger you feel at the scummy insurance company rules and tricks.
You can write your free fax, add your name and contact information and send it to any or all members of the Senate Finance Committee as well as to the President. Try it today. Congress needs to hear your story.
Donations Urgently Needed
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
eightball DONATIONS URGENTLY NEEDED

YOU HAVE BEEN SO GENEROUS BUT WE ARE FACING THE BIG GUNS.

Please donate today.
Your nearly 30 thousand faxes as of this morning are overwhelming the Washington fax machines time and time again. We know they are getting through because today we received a bunch of them back (by mistake) from Rep. Rangel's office. We also know your phone calls are getting through because we have heard that Baucus' office simply hangs up whenever anyone says 'single payer."
We know the message is being delivered.

Apparently, Washington insiders are doing their best to pretend that they don't hear the message. They are shouting desperately "I don't hear you, I don't hear you" like little kids on a playground.

We can only keep sending your message with your donations.

We are sending so many faxes that we have had to buy another fax line at $70/month. We are sending so many phone calls to offices with our auomated voicemail delivery that we have had to buy another thousand credits each day at $60/day.

eFax - Finance Committee: Let Single-Payer In

eFAX YOUR SENATOR TO INCLUDE SINGLE-PAYER IN THE FINANCE COMITTEE ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS

Select your Senator and fill out the following form to send this letter and your comments as a free fax. If your senator isn't a member of the Finance Committee, send your fax to Senator Baucus or the entire Sentate Finance Committee. A copy of your fax will go to the White House, too.

We respect your privacy. We will not sell, rent or distribute your name and email address without your permission. You will receive an email allowing you to you opt out of future contact from Health Justice.

THE FINANCE COMMITTEE MUST NOT EXCLUDE MEDICARE FOR ALL

Dear Senator _______:

I am writing to you concerning the upcoming Senate Finance Committee roundtable discussions on healthcare reform being held on May 12th.

It is important to Americans that these discussions include all healthcare reform points of view. I was disappointed and even angered at the contemptuous way in which single payer advocates were treated during the session on May 5th. I hope that you will accord those who advocate Medicare For All as much respect as the obviously more powerful representatives of the insurance industry.

The majority of Americans and physicians support a national health insurance program built on the principles of Medicare For All. We may not have the money of the insurance industry, but ultimately we have the votes and we are your employer. This is an example of why we elected you – to do what is best the public good, not to cater to the private interests of the insurance industry.

Please invite a representative from Physicians for a National Health Program or the California Nurses Association to the roundtable discussion on May 12th. You can call PNHP at 312-782-6006 or email them at info@pnhp.org. You can call CNA at 510-273-2200 or email them at govrelations@calnurses.org.

Sincerely,
