Prisoner Who Tied Iraq to Al-Qaeda Found Dead in Libyan Jail

Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi, whose false tortured confession was used as basis for Bush's war, has reportedly committed suicide...

British journalist and historian Andy Worthington, an expert and author on Guantanamo, reports that the man who had supplied a key false tie between Iraq and al-Qaeda --- after being tortured in Egypt, where he had been rendered by the U.S. --- has died in a Libyan prison. "Dead of suicide in his cell," according to a Libyan newspaper.

Worthington has excellent coverage of the story tonight, which, he says, is "ablaze" in the Arabic media, but so far unreported in all but one English language outlet.

4. More than 24 hours after we'd carried it...

When I wrote the report quoted above (5/10/09 @ 8:08pm), the story had, indeed, been "unreported" in the U.S. MSM, just as I accurately reported.

16 hours later, it was still unreported in the U.S. MSM by all but one, very bad story from Reuters which had come out just an hour before I filed my followup report (http://www.bradblog.com/?p=7135) which in an update about 8 hours later, notes that <i>WaPo</i> finally jumped in to cover the story, some 24 hours after it had first broken in English language media.

So, I'm sorry to say, the allegation made in your comment "is just dead wrong", which, had you bothered to read our coverage in the first place before making your inaccurate allegation, you'd like have discovered.
