Time to tell Banks "we gave your bailout $ to credit card holders @ 0% interest to pay your bills"
If the Govt can give banks and credit card issuers our taxpayer $$ at 0% Interest so that they can raise our credit card rates to 20-40% interest, we need to yank their chain.

A 15% interest rate cap voted down today in the Senate should be just the spark needed to motivate people to take action.

1. I like it a lot, especially if we're given enough to pay off the banks completely. nt

4. Wanna get back at the banks?
Cut up the credit card and use cash.

We can use the 'starve the beast' line just as well as they can.

5. I also want previous "exclusive" CC agreements yanked! like Costco and AMEX
Edited on Thu May-14-09 11:54 AM by cascadiance
If AMEX wants more government bailout money, then one of the conditions should be that they have to renegotiate any "exclusive" card arrangements with other businesses, like AMEX's arrangement with Costco. Costco otherwise is a decent company, but is locked into a contract to only allow CC purchases via AMEX. When AMEX has been treating its customers like crap lately with all of these games going on of raising rates and dropping credit limits, COSTCO should be given the freedom to negotiate with other cards to at least provide customers with a choice in case they are getting screwed by AMEX. That would also prevent more abuses by companies like AMEX, if they felt more competition. Costco shouldn't be made to suffer from AMEX's recent poor business practices.
