Senator McCain`s recent Baghdad photo op was another shining example of the bogus sales pitches The Bushies use to mask their desperation. Like that old saying goes, these folks would try to sell ice cubes to Eskimos. Make no mistake. Any one of them would grab a microphone in front of drowning Hurricane Katrina victims and tell us it hasn`t rained in months. They`d make well-staged trickery look like a normal, everyday stroll through Baghdad, even if it meant using 100 American soldiers as IED/sniper magnets.
There have been a lot of DU jokes about up being down and war being peace in Bushworld, but joking aside....the Bushies have a hell of a routine. Just watch Gonzales lie for the president but call it The People`s Work. Watch them jam phone lines in New Hampshire but call themselves Freedom Spreaders. Watch them outsource our jobs but cheer over the "robust" economy. See, it DOES take a village to pull off this much chicanery. Luckily, The Bushies have access to many, many props, starting with our soldiers trapped in Iraq.
Here`s what I don`t get, though....how can a United States Senator manage to stage a photo op with 100 soldiers, tv cameras, microphones, Apache helicopters and military brass in a country thousands of miles from Washington, but miss the ceiling tiles falling on the beds of maimed soldiers next door at Walter Reed?
