It was business as usual for Oakland County commissioners Thursday, including Commissioner Kim Capello, R-Novi.

Capello, who was arraigned and entered a plea Wednesday to a charge of indecent exposure, didn’t speak directly to reporters and quickly left at the conclusion of the county commission’s regular meeting.

County commission Democrats didn’t publicly press for his resignation, as the county party had.

Capello faces sentencing June 3 in district court in Novi for an April 18 incident in which police say they found him engaged in a sexual act in public with a woman who was not his wife.

Kim Capello: Republican Arrested for Sidewalk Tryst

Police say they caught a married county official having sex with another woman on the sidewalk in the Detroit suburb of Novi.

Republican Commissioner Kim Capello was arraigned Tuesday on an indecent exposure charge, which carries up to 93 days in jail. He returns to court June 3. Police Deputy Chief Tom Lindberg says the woman should be arraigned soon.

Police tell the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News the incident happened about 2 a.m. April 18.

Police say officers answering a report of indecent exposure found an unclothed man and woman apparently having sex against a wall. The couple told police they'd been drinking.
