The fate of our economy and the nation itself may depend on how well you understand Lincoln’s monetary breakthrough, the most far-reaching “economic stimulus plan” ever implemented by a U.S. President. You can solve our economic crisis quickly and permanently, by implementing the same economic solution that allowed Lincoln to win the Civil War and thus save the Union from foreign economic masters.

What the article suggests may very well be a good idea, I'm not knowledgeable enough to say, but I doubt that anything that drastic will be attempted.

I think that there's fear at the top of making such fundamental changes. Nobody can really know what the real modern world results of such an action would be, so they're more comfortable with trying to shore up the current system.

The problem is that the current system is badly broken. So which is riskier, trying to patch it or trying to replace it? I wish I knew the answer.
