1. Hey, they tried to bullshit Bob Graham--and he has OCD and writes EVERYTHING DOWN.
He can tell you what color underwear he wore on a given day twenty years ago. No shit. He writes EVERYTHING down.

They tried to lie to Graham, and he pointed it out.

I believe Graham.

4. It Was More CYA than OCD
I know Senator Graham is a compulsive diarist, but I'll bet he too careful care on these notes cause he felt they would come back to haunt him.

So many here are ready to toss Pelosi overboard based on a CIA reports...not questioning the validity of that as it serves their purpose to railroad the Speaker. I don't care what Pannetta says, he wasn't there in 2002 and those preparing the report had plenty of reasons to cover up their complicity.

As you so well point out, we saw with Colin Powell and also in the Plame case, the CIA was sat upon by the OVP and other boooshies to come up with the "right intel". Thus do we believe the agency is coming clean now? Especially when more of their dirty secrets and tactics are sure to come forward...

5. No. It's OCD. Really. He writes down what he wears every day, what
he has at every meal, where he goes, what he does, when he takes a shit....seriously. EVERYTHING.
And not just "Wore suit and tie," either. It's "Wore grey Brooks Brothers suit with silk grey check patterned socks, Van Heusen white blended cotton shirt with gold anchor cufflinks, and red and blue striped tie from The Tie Shop, and black wing tip shoes." And I'm guessing if his notebook says he met Ted Kennedy for lunch ten years ago on a Tuesday, and he had the chile and Ted had the haddock sandwich with fries, that's exactly what they had.

In short, I think his notebooks are EXACTLY, precisely, completely accurate.

The fact that the CIA blatantly lied to a guy whose OCD (and compulsivity with regard to writing down every fucking thing he does) makes him a very poor person to lie to suggests that the CIA doesn't have their crap together at ALL. I mean, really--he's the ONE guy you want to be sure you get something like a date right with!!

The media was noting the other day that Panetta was going on and on about how "The CIA doesn't lie to Congress" and he did so in a memo to his subordinates. I am of the mind that the memo might not have been exhortative, but rather the opening salvo towards punitive. The media's explanation of Panetta's words, though, were a bit...ambiguous, I guess.

I think Pelosi is telling the truth. I'm not bad at spotting a liar, and she sounded to me like she was bullshit and felt like she was being railroaded, and she wasn't gonna take it.

Time will tell, but if I had to bet, I'd say Pelosi's not lying.

6. That's the truth... He was Secretary of State at the time... They'd lie to ANYone
if it suited their purposes.

My concern is that Cheney is STILL running the CIA.

7. Be careful with your phrasing because the dates don't do much to support you
Nancy was briefed - on something - 9/4/'02
Powell Spoke at the UN on 2/5/'03

Pelosi briefing came first, Powell unloaded his line of shit 5 months later.

8. Dates aren'tthe story...
If they will lie to one of their own, "a good soldier", why would we believe they to provided full disclosure to someone that was only the ranking member of a congressional committee?

10. Bingo...I would believe Nancy Pelosi before the CIA.
They told the truth about nothing. The deceived, fabricated and lied throughout the whole build-up and during the war. Let's have a full investigation. Get all the documents out there. Bottom line, Nancy Pelosi DID NOT order, approve, or conduct torture. If anything she was briefed, as MINORITY Leader. She had no power to do anything about anything. This is a red herring to distract from the real criminals.

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/5/8/729412/-CIA:-Notes-dont-specify-briefing-on-waterboarding-for-Pelosi

None of the notes and memos that the CIA is aware of about the briefing Nancy Pelosi got on torture specified that she’d been briefed on the use of water boarding, a CIA spokesperson confirms to me.

In the newly-released documents detailing the torture briefings given to members of Congress, the portion describing Pelosi’s single briefing says she was told about the use of enhanced interrogation techniques in general, but doesn’t specify whether she was told about the use of water boarding. That was specified about some briefings given to others.

I asked CIA spokesperson Paul Gimigliano why. His answer: Because the notes and memos on the Pelosi meeting that form the basis for the docs didn’t allow them to go that far, meaning that they didn’t specify that she’d been briefed on water boarding in particular.
